This apart, being very active, having the sense and joy of working, being useful to the society brings about a positive and healthy hormone. This in turn gives you sense of fulfillment that suppresses all kind of illness”.

“Your body tells you what is good and what is bad for you. To be healthy you need to listen to your body language. This helps in preventing illness that you may develop. Also the golden rule is not to keep your stomach empty but you need to eat foods in small portions and what you can easily digest, said Dr Rao. A healthy diet should preferably comprise of a vegetarian diet at least for 4-5 days a week. When you eat anything that is non-vegetarian, it takes time to digest and prevents the food from getting converted into energy. Doctor’s Secret Diet Tips To Stay Healthy:

1. Drinking Water As Soon As You Get Up:

Drinking two glasses of water as soon as you get up in the morning is a must. This helps to neutralize the acidity in the digestive system and smoothen the bowel movement. Then you can have a cup of tea or coffee. This has been the fuel for Dr Ramana to begin the day. Following which you can keep about an hour’s gap before you have your breakfast. During this time it is essential to engage yourself in exercises for a minimum of half an hour. It could comprise of walking or treadmill. This helps in giving a boost to your energy level and helps to tackle the day without feeling exhausted.

2. Breakfast:

Make sure to eat a different breakfast each day. Devise interesting breakfasts. Idli, upma, poha. You should not rush through; start your day in a relaxed manner. After you get to work, take a break for sometime around 11.00 am; you could drink a cup of tea or coffee. You can also take a light snack, non-greasy items like a smaller yelaki banana. This helps in providing you energy and a sustained level of glucose.

3. Lunch:

An ideal time for lunch should be around 1.00 pm-1.30 pm. It should comprise of dal, rice and vegetables. Vegetables should be a must. If people prefer having non-veg then they can have it for lunch. But having curd at the end of the meal is a must as this aids in better digestion. After lunch taking just about half an hour of break is important. Dr Ramana takes a power nap during this time as this aids in relaxing and provides energy to continue the work with the same energy for the rest of the day.

4. Evening Snacks: Around 5.00 pm-5.30 pm tea with a light snack, provides the energy and keeps the stomach full. This also helps in maintaining the sugar level.

5. Dinner: Dinner should always be light, preferably two chapathis along with 1-2 vegetables. Rice should be avoided as it is rich in carbohydrates. Dinner should comprise of food that is easily digestible. Dinner should be followed by a light walk or a stroll.
